Best P-Day Eve

Monday June 8, 2015

Missionary work advances to a whole new level with i-Pads!

I am going to try doing my weekly letter like this. I am not sure if it will work because I might not have access to wifi the rest of pday and I don't want to risk not sending it, so it's a trial and error thing I guess. Right now we are in JCPenney looking for shirts for Elder Espinoza. He is going home this week! I can't believe it, he can't believe it. It's weird to think that that will be me someday. So this week obliviously has changed because we amused iPads. Man I didn't forget anything, my fingers took about 5 seconds to get used to the iPad again. It honestly wasn't as big of a change as I thought it was going to be really. We just moved right into it like nothing, we should be able to use Facebook soon, I'm thinking before the end of the month. I already used the iPad so much at home for tools that I am really just adapting it to missionary life. But...P-Days are super fun with the i-Pads too...

It is awesome!!!

Alright so I have to tell you right now, you will get the video, (down below) it's pretty funny. The sister bought me a balloon, I'm don't know why, but they did and I poked a little hole and sucked the helium out and said some funny lines. I said people's names, I said a tongue twister, and also a line in Spanish. When you get the video I said "hoy vamos a almorzar, pero se me acabó de dinero. Espero que reciba yo mas dinero este semana. Que tenga buena de mi Familia" which means "today we are going to eat lunch, but I ran out of money. I hope I get more money this week. Have a good week my family" I'm not actually going to run out of money I just wanted to say something really fast. This is just some fun stuff we do. I really want to have fun in my mission while always remembering my purpose as a missionary. This is pretty fun. This week I have made it my goal to have some more fun, with members, investigators, missionary's, everyone.
So you already know the details of my week, I gave you some more experiences here. My testimony, my scriptures are written in the physical letter. Thank you again for the delicious boxes, I will eat the, all up, I will never go hungry. Let's all set a goal to have some more fun this week. Ps: happy summer and happy birthday Charles. Everyone enjoy their summer and the week. We are all going to have fun together. I love you more than air!
This is the balloon that I ate!

                 6 months-Time To Burn A Tie

I'm sending this to my mom

This was an email that Elder Lickiss received from Hermana Merrell.

"I was going through my camera the other day and just died laughing when I saw this picture...I'm sure you all remember how much this kid loved watermelon.  So in honor of it being 6 months since the CCM.....!!"

So we love the BOM challenge. We take the opportunity to show everyone the Book of Mormon and bare our testimonies of it. It has strengthened mine, by sharing it and reading it everyday. Also writing my testimony in everyone reminds me of how great this book really is. I want nothing more than this area to grow, Elder T and I are always self-evaluating and to change and become better in every aspect of missionary work so that this really can move forward, we know loud and clear that we  need to work with members more. I really do love the member here they are so cool and have great testimony's and they do support us. I believe if we just plan better, become more organized then we will know how to work with the members more efficiently. Success will come.

SNOW IN TEXAS???

Snow Day
It's not even cold
ice ice baby, cant use this car

Really it's not even cold.
Good soup and hot chocolate for a cold day

The Missionaries were "grounded" and were told they could not drive or bike anywhere for the first day. Then the next day they could walk but still be home by 6:00 pm. So Elder Lickiss whipped up a couple pots of chicken noodle soup and yummy hot chocolate and hosted dinner for another set of Elders, his companion and himself. That's my boy!

The yummy food I've learned to cook

March
Here we are back where we started, Welcome to Denton!!

He LOVED Stephenville and being companions with Elder Tanner so I know his heart is aching a little. I also know that he will go where ever The Lord asks him to go. So Denton it is.

Things are changing up!

April 27, 2015

So I found out I am training!!! I am super nervous to train. Its kinda cool because about 3 weeks ago I felt something like I might be training this transfer. When I didn't get called on Tuesday I doubted but  President called Wednesday morning so I won 't doubt my feelings any more. Sense the day I felt the feeling I starting preparing, like re-watching the district videos again which I have come to like a lot. I felt like the first time I watched them I didn't understand them,  but now after attempting to do all that they are doing it all makes sense how and why they do the things they do. It's similar with  learning Spanish, that's why I read the books of simple grammar multiple times. I have been praying for the Lord to prepare me for this new missionary, I want to give him every chance to know how to do missionary work in its fullest before he is finished training so he won't waste a single day on his mission. I really think the hardest thing to do on the mission so far has been giving and accepting correction. I really hope I can see Elder Tanner at transfers because I want to apologize for making it so hard for him to correct me, I always blew him off and ignored him. Later I did apologize and tell him he was right and I thanked him for the correction. I find a lot of principles that we learn are symbolic of what we teach our investigators. How can we ask others to read the Book of Mormon if we won't read it (for the challenge) or how can we expect them to follow Gods law like the word of wisdom if we wont follow Gods law like waking up on time. I know God has and is preparing me for this duty and even though it will be hard and trying,  like Nephi's journey with his brothers, I know in the end if I remember my relationship with God and remember to pray, it will all be worth it.

Everyone, meet Elder Langi he is awesome! When he came in the first day I was blown away by how excited he was to start his mission. I immediately took him to an appointment and it just excited him to do more. Man we had probably the most eventful week ever. I think the Lord wanted him to have a good week. I pray I can be his best trainer, exactly what he needs, but I think he is doing way more for me.

May 18, 2015

You know what I have come to realize, missionary work is really for the missionary. We do this with the intent to bless others, but we are blessed and changed far more than we bless others. So I thank God for letting me do this, it hurts sometimes, its stressful a lot, but I said I would do it and so that will I do. A year and 4 months is nothing compared to a lifetime and an eternity, so I will make the most of what little time I have.
